The Generator Alarm Console is located at the back of the generator compartment

WHAT DOES THE MIL ALARM MEAN?
There is an active alarm on the generator alarm console Display

When at the Alarm Console and it is showing an “alarm active”, then the alarm may be 1 of 2 kinds of alarms.

There are “warning” alarms and “shutdown” alarms.

The alarms can be reset at the generator controller by cycling the key or putting in stop mode (round red button on left) then back to auto.

HCI does not recommend re-setting until the problem is resolved.

NOTE:
Genset can still run with a warning active. If a shutdown is active, it will shut down and WILL NOT allow you to start until problem is fixed.

Failure alarms for generators include:
- Fuel leak alarm
- Low oil level alarm
- Low coolant alarm
- Fire alarm
- Auto run timer expired alarm
- High coolant temp alarm
- Low oil pressure alarm
- Regulator heatsink overtemp
- Oil pressure sensor open circuit
- Coolant temperature sensor open circuit
- Generator E-stop alarm
- Under speed shutdown
- Alternator charge fail shutdown
- Fail to stop alarm
- Overspeed runaway alarm
- CCV pressure alarm
- Air Resist alarm
- Manual runtime expired alarm
- Loss of magnetic pickup

NOTE:
The Generator “LOCKOUT” on the generator controller indicates a shutdown or electrical trip.

WHAT IF THE  “TRIED TO START GENERATOR 3 TIMES” IS DISPLAYED?
-
Check the fuel supply. It may be out of fuel.
- Check battery voltage. It should be above 12v DC.

If both are good when you checked and alarm is still active, contact HCI.

WHAT IF THE “TOOL” ICON IS DISPLAYED?
This means the generator is due for an oil change.

If engine is equipped with a fuel filter, change it also. At this time, inspect other maintenance items such as air filter and belts, replace as required.

Once reset, if it is set to “400 hours” as shown below, it will have to hit 400 again hours before notification displays again..
