LENEXA, Kan. (May 3, 2019) — HCI Energy has been hand-selected to join an exclusive group of preferred suppliers to support residents and businesses of Florida in times of need. The Florida Emergency Supplier Network (FESN), created by the Florida Department of Management Services, was created to collect and organize supplier information and make it accessible to state and local purchasing professionals during emergencies. The supplier list for FESN 2019-2021 was recently released, with HCI Energy listed as one of 25 participating companies and one of only five businesses not headquartered in Florida.
“Given that the geography of the state of Florida makes it particularly vulnerable to weather disasters and related emergencies, the Florida Emergency Supplier Network is a critical resource for providing rapid response to the state’s residents,” said Ray Ansari, founder and CEO of HCI Energy. “We’re thrilled to have been selected as a FESN provider, and know that our Hybrid Cube technology is poised to address an important array of needs that arise in times of crisis. From powering water filtration and sewage treatment processes to maintaining communications systems and vital municipal services, having reliable energy available on demand is essential to disaster relief and recovery.”
The Florida Division of Emergency Management notes that notable Florida hazards include floods, hurricanes and tropical storms, tornadoes, wildfires, marine hazards, and man-made hazards. Florida has most notably issued a state of emergency surrounding
Hurricane Michael in 2018, Hurricane Irma and Tropical Storm Nate in 2017, and the Pulse night club shooting in Orlando in 2016.
